Nagano

Nagano Prefecture is a mountainous region with mountainous terrain covering 84% of the prefecture’s total land area, and does not face the sea. It is also historically known as “Shinshu” and has many traditional foods such as “Shinshu soba” and “Shinshu miso. It is also home to popular ski resorts such as Hakuba and Shiga Kogen, and hosted the 18th Winter Olympics in 1998.
