The red bean paste mixed with gyuhi is exceptional!

Izumiya” is located in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture. Founded in Saku-Heira, which flourished as an important point on the Nakasendō, the confectionery has long been a favorite of the local people. Izumiya’s “Asama-yama” manju is made with the motif of  Asama-yama a famous mountain in Nagano Prefecture.

Although it is a round manju, the actual Mt. Asama is also a well-proportioned cone-shaped mountain, and is also famous as an active volcano, having recently erupted in a small way in 2019.

Gyuhi is quite soft and seems to be mixed with the azuki bean paste.

The manju skin is also an orthodox manju skin, with a rustic flavor that brings out the performance of the azuki bean paste with gyuhi. The overall balance is well balanced and orthodox taste.
