Kumamoto
Kumamoto Prefecture is home to Mount Aso, one of the world’s largest calderas, an active volcano surrounded by lush green pastures. Kumamoto is famous for “Kumamon,” a very popular local character, Kurokawa hot springs, and Kumamoto Castle, one of the three most famous castles in Japan.
