A Sponge cake created with a collaboration of three very long-established companies
The “7 miso Castella” made by Futabado, founded in 1804 in Suzaka City, Nagano Prefecture, is an ambitious product created through a three-way collaboration with Yawataya Isogorou, a manufacturer of seven spices, and Suya Kame, a long-established Shinshu miso maker there.
What a novel concept: mixing Shinshu miso and shichimi togarashi (seven spice chili paper) and kneaded into a sponge cake. By the way, everyone has probably seen Hachimanya Isogoro’s shichimi togarashi at least once. It is the famous 7 spice chili pepper in Shinshu that comes in a small can with a stylish design. That miniature can is also a great souvenir of Shinshu area.
It is created with a collaboration of two very long-established makers with a very long history and an amazing works.
Seeing a cross-section of the Castella, and it contains a lot more seven-spice chili peppers than expected.
