“Kurumi no Daigomi” meaning Real Charm of Walnuts, made by Hanaoka, a confectioner in Higashiomi city, Nagano Prefecture, is made of walnut cookies and cheesecake. Raising my expectation higher up as this is the NO.1 popular confectionary among their product range. They have been making confectionery using walnuts over 100 years.

They founded in 1912 and it is very interesting and I learnt that they have run the business strongly and gently with a long histrory of twists and turns.
It looks like a cheesecake.
Walnuts are spread tightly in the cookie underneath.
The rich cheesecake and the savory walnut cookies are perfectly matched! This is very delicious and it really convinces us of the reason why this becomes their singature product.
