Kurumi-Yamabiko half

Taste of an atmosphere reminiscent of Karuizawa, Nagano

I bought a half-size of “Walnut Yamabiko,” a famous confectionary representative of Nouvelle Umebirindo, which has a store near Lake Suwa in Okaya City, Nagano Prefecture. Perhaps because of the image of Karuizawa in Nagano, I felt that the confection was somewhat European.

As you can see, the nutty caramel material is evenly balanced and encased in the cookie. From the side, you can see how beautifully it fits together.

As you can see, the caramel inside pulls away softly just by trying to halve it with your hand. Even though it is called caramel, it remains soft like cream. It also looks delicious with lots of nuts.

The crunchy cookies, soft caramel, and lots of walnuts give it a great texture and flavor. The taste of this European-inspired pastry was reminiscent of the atmosphere of Karuizawa, Nagano.
