“Zabieru” made by “Zabieru Honpo” in Oita City, Oita Prefecture, is a popular confectionary in Oita Prefecture, named after Francis Xavier, a Jesuit who came to Japan in 1549.
The design of the box is inspired by the Bible. The black box is impressive.
It looks like a tube-shaped manju, but the outer dough is like a cookie.
Inside is a white bean paste.
The outer dough is crispy and the bean paste inside is moist and delicious. By the way, there are two types of filling, one with white bean paste and the other with white bean paste with rum raisins, and the one with rum raisins was also delicious.
