Niigata Prefecture is a rice-producing region represented by Koshihikari rice, and is a sake-producing region with nearly 100 sake breweries. Because a lot of delicious rice can be harvested, persimmon seeds and rice cracker culture have developed, and there are many rice cracker companies. Offshore is Sado Island, where the special natural monument bird “Toki” is bred.
