Delicious sweet potato paste made with Beniharuka

“Tsuki-no-Yado” made by Osaka-ya in Niigata City is a manju made with sweet potato bean paste. The manju is made to look like a round moon, with the golden hue of the sweet potato resembling the light of the moon.

The package also has an illustration of a round rabbit, evoking a moonscape.

It looks like an ordinary milk manju,,

Inside is a sweet potato filling made from “Beniharuka” sweet potatoes. It has a beautiful golden color with a slight transparency.

It tastes like sweet potato paste with butter and egg yolk. The sweetness of the sweet potato spreads through the thin manju skin, giving the manju a slightly Western taste.
