Baked Donut (Mango)
Japanese notation "ベイクドドーナツ(マンゴー)"
Fuji Bambi in Kumamoto Prefecture is a company famous for producing “Kokutou(Brown Sugar) donut-sticks“, but they are also known for producing a variety of donuts. This time, I bought “Baked Donut (Mango)” made by Fuji Bambi.
Mango cultivation is thriving in Kumamoto Prefecture, and in recent years, mangoes have been branded as a regional specialty. This is the first time I’ve had a mango-flavored doughnut, by the way.
A very beautiful donut appeared. The dough skin of the donut is well-defined and has the texture of a sponge cake.
When I cracked the dough, I could smell the fluffy mango aroma. The dough has a strong orange hue, which gives it a mango texture. The idea of using mango fruit as a doughnut is something that can only be done in a tropical country.
The texture is fluffy, with just a hint of mango tartness and rich sweetness. The dough is light, so it is easy to eat up quickly, but the unique flavor of the fruitcake made for a delicious donut.
