Inochi Lemon

Japanese notation "いのち 檸檬"
“Lemon” among a series of “Inochi” is a popular custard cake made by Ragueneau in Aomori Prefecture. Likewise the Shine Muscat flavor I had the other day, this one seems to be a seasonal product.
Starting with the apple flavor, which is emblematic of Ragueneau, the “Inochi Series” has grown to include a wide variety of products, and is now a standard custard manju, sweet bun.
Since this is a custard manjuu, the dough has a lemon-like tint, and the lemon-flavored dough seems to be more yellow than the rest of the series. The lemon-flavored dough seems to have a little lemon peel kneaded into it.
Inside, there are two layers of custard cream and lemon jelly, it is their standard structure of the Inochi series.
Analysing this from different standpoints, it is anyhow delicious. The lemon flavor also goes well with it. After all, the Inochi series is an all-round custard manju.
