Cheese Manju

Cheese buns have the feel of a traditional Western confectionery.
“Cheese Manju” made by “Okashiji-Ueno” a long-established confectionery shop in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, is a sweet cheese bun. The confectioner has been in business since 1949 (Showa 24).
When it comes to Miyazaki Prefecture’s confectionery souvenirs, “cheese bun” has become a standard sweet that cannot be missed. The various confectioners in Miyazaki City seem to make them, and all of them have their own originality, making it fun to compare them.
Okashiji-Ueno also makes high quality cheese buns by utilizing their techniques piled up from their long-term experiences.
Generally Cheese Manju there is characterized by their biscuit-like manju dough filled with fresh cheese and it looks like a new genre of Western confectionery. Each of them has a high degree of perfection, and the taste is very European.
Their cheese bun also goes well with the natural flavor of fresh cheese and the subtly sweet cookie dough. The cheese bun itself is a completed confectionery, and I look forward to seeing many more different types of cheese buns from Miyazaki Prefecture in the future.
