Beppu-no-Tamago
Japanese notation "別府のたまご"
Beppu in Oita Prefecture is famous as one of the most famous hot spring resorts in Japan, and each hot spring also produces various kinds of “Onsen-Tamago“. Beppu Eggs are manju wrapped in white chocolate and made in the motif of Beppu’s famous hot spring eggs.
The package is wrapped in Japanese paper with the word “Tamago(egg)” written in cute letters in the middle, and is one size smaller than an actual egg.
An egg-shaped shape covered in white chocolate. This appearance reminds one of Iwate Prefecture’s famous confectionery, Kamome no Tamago (seagull’s egg), but when cut in half, the style of the filling is quite different from that of Kamome no Tamago.
The sponge cake dough is voluminous and the red bean paste is contained in a square shape. The yolk bean paste and castella dough are made using 100% Oita Prefecture’s finest eggs.
The sponge cake and yolk bean paste inside have a firm eggy flavor that mixes well with the white chocolate coating around it in a well-balanced manner.
