Atari-Maeda-no-Cricket
Japanese notation "あたり前田のクリケット"
Maeda Confectionery in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, is too famous for producing “Atari Maeda-no-Cracker” but this time I bought “Atari-Maeda-no-Cricket”. “Cricket” seems to be a bite-sized biscuit.
Maeda Seika is a confectionery manufacturer with a history of over 100 years, founded in 1918, and has been manufacturing crackers and cookies since its establishment, making it a pioneer in biscuit production in Japan. The packaging is also cute with a retro look.
The cookies were about the size of a fingertip. It also had the feel of a small cookie that had been baked to a golden brown.
The bottom surface is well baked and has a hard texture. It is shaped like a macaroon, but it is really a bite-sized piece.
It has a crispy, crunchy, cookie-like texture around the edges, with the aroma of well roasted flour, but also a hint of sweetness, eggy and buttery flavor. Delicious, excellent with milk or coffee.
