Porte Bonheur

Madeleines named in French “the ones that bring happiness”.
The madeleine is named as “Porte Bonheur” made by Gateau Festa Harada in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. “Porte Bonheur“ means something that brings happiness in French.
The elegant packaging design is their typical style, and the size seems quite large for a standard madeleine.
The shape is rather flat, and the size is large enough. The shell-shaped madeleine reminds me of Blanca’s “Shell Raines” from Mie Prefecture. Comparing both, “Shell Raine” has a crispy and heavy texture, and this has a fluffy, light and soft texture.
The fluffy, soft dough is filled with the aroma of butter.
Gâteau Festa Harada is well known for“Gouter de Roi Series” , and soft madeleine like this is also enjoyable. Moreover, the quality is as good as we would expect, and the taste is unquestionably delicious. By the way, we can buy one each of both the Goutte des Rois series and other sweets at their store. It is fun to check if any new releases out there
