Northman Sio-Lemon
Japanese notation "ノースマン 塩レモン"
A “salted lemon flavor” was released from “Northman”, the famous red bean paste pie by Senshūan, a long-established confectionery in Hokkaido.
“Northman” is a traditional sweet bean paste pie loved in Hokkaido for a long time, and I love it too.
It looks no different from the usual Northman. It has a flat shape and a bit of weight. The pie crust looks delicious as usual.
When I cracked it open, I found a “salted lemon” flavored bean paste. It appears to be an original white bean paste based filling. The lemon juice and peel are mixed with coarse salt to create a sweet and sour lemon flavor.
It has a very refreshing taste with just the right amount of lemon flavor and slight saltiness to the typical Northman mouthfeel. It seems to be a summer-only product, so Northman lovers should definitely give it a try!
