Anchin’s mochi tsurigane manju

あんちんのもちもちつりがね饅頭

It's such a classic taste that I wish convenience stores would carry it.

These manju are shaped like a bell in reference to the bell that appears in the legend of Anchin and Kiyohime, which is related to Dojoji Temple in Kishu. The legend of Anchin and Kiyohime is a scary story, but the manju has a cute shape.

There seem to be various kinds of red bean paste inside, but this time I got black and white red bean paste.

The dough is chewy to the touch, and when you break it open, it is full of red bean paste. It is a light-colored Ogura-an (sweet bean paste).

Delicious! The red bean paste is refreshingly sweet and very elegant. I like this kind of sweet bean paste.

Next is the white bean paste. There is a lot of white bean paste.

The flavorful white bean paste is also very elegant. There are a total of six types of bean paste: Koshi-an black, Koshi-an white, tsubu-an, custard, chestnut red bean paste, and plum red bean paste.
