Shell Leines
Japanese notation "シェル・レーヌ"
“Shell Leines” made by Blanca, which produces sweets in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, are very authentic madeleines.
The package reads “Awarded the Honorary President’s Prize at the 22nd National Confectionary Exposition”
I have never been to this expo, so I don’t know how great it is, but I have high hopes that these madeleines are so good that they can compete and receive an award.
Pure madeleine shape. It is a standard scallop shell shape. It feels a bit heavy to the touch and gives a massive impression.
They use eggs from local farms and flour produced in Mie Prefecture, and each one is carefully baked by hand.
They are definitely delicious, and the quality is superior to any other madeleines I have ever tasted. It was romantic to think that madeleines made with local ingredients in Mie Prefecture, could be of such high quality.
