Gouter de Roi Sommelier Italian
Japanese notation "グーテ・デ・ロワ ソムリエ イタリアン"
“Gouter de Roi Sommeliers Italian” made by Gateau Festa Harada in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, is an Italian-inspired version of ‘Gouter de Roi Sommeliers’. This is created to pair well with wine. The Gouter de Roi series has an image of a sweet pastry, but it tastes like it could be served as an hors d’oeuvre rusk with a meal.
A wine bottle is printed on the package and, likewise the Gouter de Roi Sommeliers, it says “Rusk to go with wine.”
The rusk dough is made from French bread and soaked with basil, cheese, and tomatoes. It really feels like the rusk itself is a mass of Italian ingredients.
The crispy texture and the cheese aroma are more robust than I had imagined, giving it a kind of Italian pizza atmosphere.
The tomato and cheese flavors are strong and rich, and would go well with both wine and beer. It makes us want to eat a lot.
