Otome no Hitotoki

Amazing perfection! Dried fruits and white bean paste are perfectly matched.

“Otome no Hitotoki” made by Mitsuya in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is an unusual kind of dorayaki, bean-jam pancake,  filled with dried fruit. “Otome no Hito toki” is an unusual name for a dorayaki, but it is a product with a great reputation.

The confectionary is packed with a stylish designed package, as is the “Mitsu-manju“. The modern atmosphere, colors, and illustrations are consistent with a unified concept. Good package design is one of important factors in making people happy when giving them.

The dorayaki crust is baked quite moist and has a soft pancake-like texture.

Many honey-soaked walnuts, figs, raisins and other ingredients are wrapped in white bean paste and are filled in the dorayaki.

At first, the combination of dried fruit and dorayaki seems novel, and the taste is extremely well-balanced. The conbination between right balanced sourness and white bean paste is extemely perfect.  This is a confectionery having high potential to expand variety of dorayaki.
