Kangetsu

High-quality lineup of "Tsukisamu Anpan" made with high-quality ingredients.

Honma Corporation, founded in 1906 (Meiji era 39) locates in Toyohira-ku, Sapporo, is famous for making “Tsukisamu Anpan“.  “Kangetsu” here introducing seems to be a high-end line series which is an evolution of Tsukisamu Anpan.

The confectionary is also adopted for in-flight meals on JAL domestic first-class flights, and the packaging has a luxurious feel.

Compared to Tsukisamu Anpan, the size looks smaller and the price is higher than Anpan.

The flour used is “Kitahonami” flour produced in Hokkaido, which is characterized by its moist and elegant texture.

It has a softer texture than Tsukisamu Anpan, and the koshian (sweet bean paste) seems to have a refined sweetness. I guess it is a matter of taste, but personally, I think I prefer Tsukisamu Anpan to Kangetsu because I used to eating it.  From a gift standpoint, Kangetsu is also good as a high class version of Tsukisamu Anpan.
