Wakagaeri Manju
Japanese notation "若がえりまんじゅう"
”Wakagaeri Manju” made by Sen-eido in Akita Prefecture is a manju with a unique texture made with brown sugar and kudzu (Arrowroot Flour). I had tried “Wakagaeri Manju Kurobe” before, but the one I bought this time seems to be the plain flavor.
Eat one and you’ll be young for three days! This series is marketed with a humorous catchphrase, “Eat One and You’ll Be Three Days Younger!
Manju with a very shiny dough. The material is made of kudzu, which is a soft and pliable material. This texture is certainly reminiscent of “rejuvenation.
Inside is azuki bean paste.
The manju dough with kudzu is very fresh to the touch and goes perfectly with the smooth azuki red bean paste. Akita Prefecture is also known as “Akita Bijin” (Akita Beauty), and perhaps everyone keeps their youthfulness by eating this rejuvenating manju.
