Biscout
A classic retro Yokohama souvenir full of the atmosphere
Japanese notation "創作栗きんとん栗苞"
Nakatsugawa in Gifu Prefecture is nationally famous for its chestnuts.
And I bought a sweet called “Kuri-zutsumi” a chestnut kinton from “Shougetsu-dō” one of the famous chestnut confectionery stores in the area.
It is double wrapped in Japanese paper.
It is shiny and glistening. This is like kuzu mochi.” The texture of the chestnut kuri-kinton overturns the image of kuri-kinton.
When split in half, there was a chestnut kinton inside. It is a unique structure.
The texture of the kuzumochi and the smooth texture of the chestnut kinton go very well together. It is a very elaborate confectionary that is a mecca for chestnut confectionaries only found in Nakatsugawa, Gifu Prefecture.
