Shichiri-no-Watashi

Kameya Yoshihiro, with its main store in Atsuta-ku, Nagoya, is a long-established confectionery shop that has been making “Owari famous sweets” rooted in Nagoya since its establishment in 1949.
The “Shichiri-no-watashi” introduced here is one of such famous sweets of Owari. The name “Shichiri-no-watashi” refers to the ferry crossing that connects the current Atsuta Ward of Nagoya City to Kuwana City in Mie Prefecture on the sea route known as the Fifty-three Stages of the Tokaido.
Peeking out from the “sea of kinako” (soybean flour), a huge amount of kinako, is a miniature, round dumpling. It contains two balls of Ankoromochi covered with soybean flour.
The high-quality soybean flour enhances the taste of the dumpling. The dumpling has a simple taste, but the high quality of each ingredient makes it a very high quality dumpling.
