Kurumikko
Super fine caramel x walnuts x biscuits and a cute little squirrel.
Japanese notation "二○加煎餅(にわかせんべい)"
Fukuoka City confectionery “Tōundō” is a long-established confectionery established in 1906, and Tōundō is nationally famous for this “Niwaka Sembei” (rice cracker).
It is a rice cracker with a slightly cookie-like flavor with a deliciously simple sweetness of egg and flour. I feel it is in the same lineage as “Yama-Oyaji” made by Senshū-an in Sapporo, and I love it.
Interesting expressions.
These days, they sometimes include a version with this cute expression.
The way in which the traditional art form is expressed without losing any of the fun is truly a cracker with a sense of boldness and fun that is uniquely Fukuoka.
