Rokkatei’s pie confectionery “Itsuka Kita Michi” is a fruit-based crispy pie. It is a sister series to the “Shimo-Datami” cappuccino pie.
The most distinctive feature of this pie is that it is made from a fruit called “marmelo”. I looked up “Marmelo” and found that it is a member of the rose family, similar to the quince.
Marumelo jelly that is contained in large cubes in the cream. The texture was crunchy and similar to the flavor of pears. It was slightly sweet and sour and went well with the cream.
The pie is crispy, airy, and melts in your mouth. The flavor of “Marmelo” which I had never tasted before, was somehow nostalgic. The natural sweetness of the pie was delicious.
