Marsen Butter Mochi Sable
Japanese notation "マルセン バター餅サブレ"
I bought a “Marusen Butter Mochi Sablet” made by “Sensyu-do”, a confectioner in Morioka City since 1930.” I am curious to know what exactly a “mochi sable” is.
The packaging is printed with a retro, classic logo.
What came out was a thin, round sable. The texture is quite moist, as it is a raw sable. It is hard to believe that there is a rice cake inside such a thin layer. It looks just like a sable.
It looks crispy, but the texture is quite moist. And when I tried to break it in half with my hand, it was incredibly moist and the sable dough stretched.
Even though it is a sable, the mochi has a great consistency. The butter and egg flavor is good, and the taste of the sable and the rice cake are strangely matched. I experienced a new kind of pastry with a new sensation.
