I bought an apple pie called “Lovely Pie” made by “Hatoya Confectionery” in Aomori Prefecture. Hatoya Confectionery makes many confections using Aomori apples, and is a notable confectioner that also sells freeze-dried “Soft apple” confectionery.
Round pie, flat and chunkier than expected.
When you break it into two pieces, you will see that it is filled with apples. The custard cream and apples are so filling that it is heavier than it looks.
The combination of honey-soaked Aomori apples and custard cream is exquisite. The sweetness of the custard is perfectly balanced with the tartness of the apples, and above all, the handmade custard cream is delicious, making this a gentle pie full of homemade flavor. It is truly a “Lovely pie”.
