Pineapple Ame

“Pineapple Ame(candy)” made by Seika Shokuhin, which is also famous for producing “Bontan Ame” is a soft candy made from the juice of golden pineapples.
Each piece is wrapped in an edible paper, making it easy to eat with ease.
It looks as if it is wrapped in plastic, but it is wrapped in an edible paper so you can eat it as is. When I first saw the edible paper when I was little, I tried to peel it off and eat it. lol
It has a nostalgic feeling, but also a unique taste.
When I first ate edible paper, I wondered why such a vinyl-like substance melted in my mouth. It is made from starch extracted from potatoes and processed into a film.
It has a delicious chewy texture and juicy pineapple acidity! Personally, I might recommend this pineapple candy over Bontan Ame.
