Ippuku Biyori (A Perfect Day for a Break)

Feel the true quality of Shiga Habutae Mochi glutinous rice for the rice crackers

“Ippuku Biyori” made by Nakanishi Eiseido in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, is a compact assortment pack of rice crackers. They have been operating as a brown rice wholesaler specializing in Omi rice since the early Meiji period. Since one of their business partners was a rice cracker manufacturer, they learned how to make rice crackers from them—an experience that reportedly laid the foundation for their current rice cracker production.

The package, featuring cute, whimsical illustrations, contains an assortment of seven different types of rice crackers.

The lineup includes bean rice crackers, soy sauce rice crackers, “Full Moon,” plum paste rice crackers, square nori crackers, sesame rice crackers, and green nori rice crackers.

The main ingredients used are varieties such as “Shiga Habutae Mochi,” which is considered one of the top brands of glutinous rice, and although these are baked rice crackers, it really feels sense the fine texture of the glutinous rice. This assortment pack is perfect as a little snack to go well with tea.
