Morioka Dominican Monastery Galette

This certainly should not be lost, an excellent and delicious monastery galette!
Morioka Dominican Monastery, located by the Kitakami River in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, produced a very popular galette, but discontinued its production and sales in 2005. However, Kawatoku, a long-established department store in Morioka City, has reproduced and reissued this traditional and popular product, the “Morioka Dominican Monastery Galette.
I have had sweets made at the monastery, such as “Trappist cookies” and “Nasu Trappist galette” and remember them as being of surprisingly high quality and delicious.
This galette looks like a round, thin rice cracker. The browned surface looks like a texture closer to cookies than to waffles.
When crack it, it is like a hard cookie, and the buttery aroma spreads.
The rich buttery flavor, moderate sweetness, and wheat flavor are perfectly balanced. Very tasty!
This includes 12 packs and quickly devoured at once. This is a delicious galette that I certainly don’t want to lose.
