Ganso Yama Oyaji (Hakodate Senshūan)

Yama-Oyaji created by Sakitaro Matsuda, the fourth generation of the Senshūan Sohonke family.
“Ganso Yama Oyaji” made by Senjuan Sohonke in Hakodate City, is a plain tasted cracker. The confectioner has an impressive long history founded in 1860 and they are an originator of the current famous Hokkaido confectionery maker.
I am familiar with the other Yama Oyaji made by Sapporo Senshūan and this is my first try to have this.
Although they look like the same Yama Oyaji, the difference is Hakodate Senjuan’s one is individually wrapped one by one.
The “bear on skis” drawn on the surface of the Yama Oyaji is also slightly different from the one of Sapporo Senshūan.
The plain taste of egg, wheat, and sugar is the same, but the sweetness is a little stronger than that of Sapporo Senshūan. The texture is more firm and crispy, while the other is softer and crispier.. As conclusion, both Yama Oyaji are delicious.
