Pierre Hermé Meringues

Cocked meringue with macarons made by the Picasso of the patisserie world

Pierre Hermé, called as the Picasso of the patisserie world, is a French patissier and has also become a famous brand in Japan. Pierre Hermé stores are located all over Japan, and since many of them are in Tokyo, we will introduce them here as Tokyo souvenirs.

The assortment package includes three colorful different flavors, almond (red), lemon (yellow) and pistachio (green).

The one of them, pistachio flavor seems to be buried in a pure white meringue made of egg whites.  By the way, the top and bottom of the macarons are called “cock”.

The shape is quite unique. It is understandable why Pierre Hermé is called the “Picasso of the pastry world”.

There are many pistachios inside. The meringue is crispy and delicate, and seems to get crumbled easily with the slightest effort.

It is crispy but melts in a mouth. It is elegantly sweet and luxurious.  This assortment box would be perfect for a gift.
