A popular snack that has become a staple butter sandwich

“Press Butter Sand” made by BAKE Corporation has become a popular snack since it went on sale in April 2017, and is now one of the standard lineup of sweets which makes people happy to receive as souvenirs.

This is a freshly baked one wrapped in a paper package at the Daimaru Tokyo store.  It seems to be sopyisticated package design and that is probably another reason for its popularity.

The outer cookies are baked using the “Hasami-yaki” technique, a Japanese confectionery manufacturing method, to create a crispy texture while removing excess oil.

The cookies are baked leaving a hollow space to enable fresh cream and butter caramel to fill in.

The texture of the crunchy cookie melds with the smooth butter cream and caramel sauce and it is without doubt so delicious.   It is no wonder that this rich, buttery cookie sandwich has become a regular favorite.
