“Annou-imo-mitsu financier” supervised by the Kawauchi Confectionery Industry Association in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, is a financier made with Anno sweet potatoes, which is grown and speciality of Kagoshima.
Anno sweet potato is called “Mitsu-imo(Sweet honey potato)” and is characterized by their sweetness and sticky texture. That is often used in dried, baked, and sweet potato dishes. It is also known as the perfect sweet potato for making sweets.
A financier in the shape of a long, thin stick. Sweet potato honey, called amendoro is made from Annou sweet potato is kneaded in the dough and finished by baking.
The outside is crispy and the inside is soft and fluffy. we can smell a faint sweet potato aroma while break it open. .
It is delicious and it firmly tastes sweetness of the potato. The amendoro, sweet potato haney, produces a rich sweetness and the dough is quite sticky. It possibly expands more potential of Annou sweet potato.
