Yukkuri Imo Hatake no Caramel
Japanese notation "由栗いも畑のキャラメル"
“Yukkuri Imo Hatake no Caramel” made by the Sorachi South Sweet Potato Club, an organization established by agricultural producers in Sorachi County, Hokkaido, is a caramel. Yukkuri-Imo” is a brand name of sweet potatoes grown in the towns of Kuriyama and Yuni, which are stored under their unique technique after harvested and slowly matured over time.
The package looks pop design printed a winking bear in a vivid pink color scheme.
A wrapped rectangular caramel in oblong paper is included in each package.
It is a caramel but the texture is different. It is springy and easy to bite off, delicious.
The texture is more like “Nihon-Ichi Kibidango” a major confectionery in Hokkaido, and its gentle sweetness spreads. It is so delicious more than I expected and wished to buy more. Strongly recommend you to give it try.
Additional tips ;
It looks like “Japan’s No.1 Kibidango,”a millet dumplings, and upon further research, it is indeed a confection made in collaboration with Yata Confectionery in Kuriyama Town! It is a wonderful local collaboration.
