Cashewnut Yokan

Cashew nuts and yokan surprisingly go so well together.

Muraoka Sohonpo, whose head office is located in Ogi City, Saga Prefecture, is a very long-established company founded in 1899, and is famous for “Ogi Yokan” a traditional yokan adopted kneading method since the Edo period, and also nationally known for its “Siberia” production. “Cashewnut Yokan”, sweet beans jelly is one of their confections.

One of the distinctive characteristics of Muraoka Sohonpo’s confections is their beautiful package design. This small box also has an eye-catching design.

This yokan is a sweet beans jelly included lots of cashew nuts. The concept is a good for coffee as same as weterns sweets.  Indeed, the amount of cashew nuts kneaded into the yokan is amazing.

Cashewnuts have an image of being one of the most expensive nuts so it is very rich to taste that volume of nuts with their yokan together.

The richness of cashew nuts blends with the moderate sweetness of yokan and is very tasty.  You will be surprised at how well they go together. Please give it a try.
