“Keiran(egg) Manju” are the signature product of “Keiran-dō” in Masuda City, Shimane Prefecture, a confectionery shop with a history of more than 50 years. “Keiran Manju” are a well-known specialty of Masuda City.

There is also “Keiran Manju” made by “Isshōdō” in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, under the same name. Both are very popular souvenir sweets as manju (buns) that make the most of eggs. There is a clear difference in style in terms of appearance and the type of red bean paste inside.

“Keiran Manju” from “Keiran-dō” are bite-sized buns with white bean paste in the dough, using only fresh eggs produced in Masuda. The texture is mainly made of sponge cake dough.

The fluffy sponge dough with a strong egg flavor and lightly sweetened white bean paste are well balanced. It is a simple taste, but you can feel the goodness of the ingredients, and you will not be able to stop eating the next one.
