Kokyou
Japanese notation "古鏡"
“Kokyou” is the signature product of Kimuraya, which was founded in 1887 in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. It is said to be a representative confectionary that represents the essence of “red bean paste” that Kimuraya has accumulated in its long history of more than 130 years since its establishment.
A majestic package design. The design seems to resemble an ancient mirror, and is said to be modeled after a bronze mirror excavated from a pond at Dewa Shrine on Mt. Haguro.
Ogura-an (sweet bean paste) is hardened into a beautiful cylinder shape and has a solid weight.
The thickness is about 1.8 mm.
Looking at the cross section, I found it to be a beautiful pastry with a neat and tidy appearance, with the gyuhi inside.
And it tastes very perfect, a quality that makes sense given the history of Ogura-an, which has been accumulated for more than 130 years.
The luxurious package design makes it an ideal atmosphere for gift-giving. The Japanese sweets are a luxurious treat to be enjoyed with a cup of strong green tea.
