Cheese manju

“Cheese manju” have become a standard souvenir from Miyazaki Prefecture. Each store has its own unique cheese buns, and it is fun to compare them. Sueyama’s cheese buns are also very original, and the package design is also very unique.

The hiragana character “ち(chi)” is laid out in a large size in the center.

The manjuu buns were baked to a golden brown. It has a flat shape, but the dough is moist and has the atmosphere of a luxurious Western-style confectionery.

Looking inside, a large cheese appears. It is said to be a proprietary blend of cream cheese, and there are chunks of cheese that are quite firm in texture and somewhat transparent.

The rich yet fresh tasting cream cheese and buttery manju dough go well together. Miyazaki Prefecture’s cheese buns are really becoming a lineup of many unique products. It is fun to compare them at different stores.
