Dorayaki (Yanaka-Fukumaru)
Japanese notation "どら焼き (谷中福丸)"
Dorayaki from Yanaka-Fukumaru Manju, a store in Yanaka, Taito-ku, Tokyo. It is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop established in 1955, and is known for its “Hitokuchi manju”.
The packaging is very simple, but it conveys the feeling of a long-established dorayaki shop. The best part is that each one costs only 110 yen including tax.
Authentic Dorayaki appearance. The size seems to be just one size smaller than a typical dorayaki, but I thought I might like this size the best.
Ogura-an inside, I think the balance between the thickness of the skin and the red bean paste is just right.
Delicious. It is just like an authentic dorayaki, with a taste of perfection. It is also overwhelmingly cosy and delicious. All of the sweets from “Yanaka Fukumaru Manju” in Yanaka, Taito-ku, Tokyo, are excellent value for money, so I hope you will give them a try.
