Baked Mont Blanc
Japanese notation "焼きモンブラン"
“Baked Mont Blanc” is a cake made by “Kisaragi” a company that sells many confections, both Western and Japanese, in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture. It is said to be a very popular signature item.
The top of the package is pointy, probably to represent the shape of a chestnut, and the chic colors give it an autumnal feel.
The cake comes in a cute cup. The cup says “It looks well and tastes well” LOL.
Chestnuts are placed on top of the cake.
When cut in half, it has a very moist texture. The dough seems to be richly kneaded with cream and butter and chestnut paste, and the dough itself has the feel of Mont Blanc paste rather than a cake sponge.
The texture of the dough is very smooth and the texture of the Mont Blanc is very moist despite being baked. The taste is refreshing and naturally sweet, perhaps because it is based on Japanese chestnut paste. It was of a quality that explains why it has become a popular product.
