Torikawa-Sakusaku-Age
Japanese notation "とりかわサクサク揚げ(かぼす味)"
Karaage is also called the soul food of Oita Prefecture. I bought “Torikawa Crunchy Fried Chicken with Kabosu Flavor,” a snack snack made by a popular local fried chicken restaurant, “Uncle Poppo’s Oita Karaage“.
Uncle Poppo’s Oita Karaage” is a fried chicken restaurant that is widely distributed in various areas of Oita Prefecture, and is well known by many local people. On the back of the package, there was an explanation of how the “Torikawa Crunchy Fried Chicken” was commercialized, as well as an explanation of Oita Prefecture’s specialty, kabosu (a type of citrus fruit).
The fried chicken skin is fried to a crispy and very light texture, weighing only about 30 grams for such a large portion.
It seems to be fried so crispy and crunchy that the moisture content is close to 0%. The whole dish has a citrusy aroma as it is flavored with kabosu.
It is delicious. It has a strong aroma of kabosu and a refreshing taste even though it is deep-fried. I was surprised at how crispy the chicken skin becomes if you keep frying it. It is a luxurious snack made of natural ingredients, but it is completely a snack for alcoholic beverages rather than a candy. I think it is a perfect souvenir for people who like to drink.
