Tsuki-Gesho
Japanese notation "月化粧"
“Tsuki-Gesho” made by Osaka’s Aoki Shofuan is a major player among so-called “milk manju,” a type of manju, and holds the record of selling more than 14 million pieces annually.
The name “Tsuki Make-up” is also a beautiful name. The yellow manju is reminiscent of the moon. The fine texture of the manju skin is characteristic of this product.
Inside is a transparent milk red bean paste. The white bean paste blended with Hokkaido shiroganetoki (white sweet bean paste) is cooked with plenty of high-quality butter and milk-flavored condensed milk. The carefully selected eggs, milk, and butter give the red bean paste a fine, refreshing sweetness.
Both the bean paste and the skin are smooth and delicate. It goes better with black coffee than green tea.
