Ram-Dora
Japanese notation "ラムドラ"
I was surprised to find such a mature dorayaki, “Ramudora”, which is famous in Nagasaki Prefecture. The website of Umetsudo also says, “This is a mature person’s dorayaki. Children must be grown up before they can enjoy it. It’s a bit funny, isn’t it? It is a little funny.
The reason why it is an ”Adult dorayaki” is because it contains a lot of alcohol. It is lavishly flavored with Myers dark rum.
When you put it out on a plate, you can feel that the dorayaki skin is already drenched in rum. It feels like a fine cake.
However, when you look at it from the side, it is still a “dorayaki,” with the red bean paste in between.
And the red bean paste, it has a great rum aroma. Even though it is red bean paste, it is filled with rum raisins and has a nice aroma! Rum raisin and azuki bean paste are mixed and matched.
One bite and I was impressed. This is delicious. It tastes completely different from so-called “dorayaki,” but I was surprised at how well rum raisins and anko (red bean paste) go together. It also contains a lot of rum, which gives it a fresh and mellow aroma. Since it contains quite a bit of alcohol, this is definitely an “adult” dorayaki. Dorayaki with rum raisins and red bean paste sandwiched in between. This is a new style of dorayaki.
