Habutae mochi (Matsuoka-ken)
Japanese notation "松岡軒 羽二重餅"
Habutae mochi is a famous confectionery of Fukui Pref., boasts of local fame in nationwide. There are many makers of the simmilar confectionery across Japan.
Here I would like to focus on the one made by Matsuokaken.
The inner package is fold into two and the size looks perfect, not too big or too small. It is a good souvenirs and convenient to hand out one by one to my coworkers at work. The package is stylish and looks high-class Habutae mochi.
It is soft. It is a really delicate pastry.
When I touch it, felt very delicacy, soft, smooth like silk and barely keep it solid.
The texture is like melting in my mouth and tastes subtle sweetness. I presume this is an elaborate confectionery pouring the companay’s delicate high technique. The expiry date is only 10 days though, it is very nice for sourvenir.
