‘Kamakuma-san’ is a bite-sized unique apple pie made by Apple Pie Kōtaro,  an apple pie specialty shop originated in Kamakura city.

They originally run an high-end bakery shop and use their expetise to make such baked cofectionary. They pay high attention for every step of the baking procerss from the stage of dough preparation.

A cookie-like dough covers the top and the bottom is made of pie crust, looks interesting combination.

The filling inside is made from apples harvested in Aomori Prefecture and this looks like the same as an apple pie.

It is delicious and is simple sweetness.  The homemade-style crust is also tasty. Since it keeps well at room temperature, it is an ideal souvenir. It’s a kind of treat you’d want to pick up at a chic shop when you come by Kamakura.
