Kamakura Oyaki

Dorayaki made by the Soke Minamoto Kitchōan, an authentic Japanese confectionery orginated in Okayama

Did you know “Soke Minamoto Kitchōan”, a Japanese confectionery originated in Okayama Prefecture, who is often seen in department stores nationwide?  They were founded in 1946 and currently headquartered in Ginza, Tokyo, and they have about 150 stores nationwide and produces many traditional and high quality wagashi, Japanese confectionary.

“Kamakura Oyaki” is so-called ‘dorayaki’, a sweet bean jam filled pancake.  Naming Kamakura sounds like the confectionero locates in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The crust has a pancake-like texture and is baked with a slight tiger pattern on it.

The fluffy crust is filled with fresh sweet bean paste.

The refreshingly sweet and fresh tsubu-an (sweet bean paste) is of a quality that anyone would find it delicious.  This is indeed a fine dorayaki made by a talented Japanese confectioner keeping stores in depa-basements across the country.
