Rice cake made by a company famous for producing rice cake flour

“Kusa Daifuku”, a rice cake flavoured with the mugwort herb and stuffed with bean jam, made by Namisato Co. in Sano city, Tochigi Prefecture, is one of line-ups among their Waraku brand.

Namisato is one of the leading rice flour manufacturers in Japan, and is famous not only for their rice cake production, but also for their rice flour, which is essential for making gluten-free foods.  Such gluten-free foods have been attracted recently.

This mugwort herb rice cake is made from the high qualified rice flour among their brand.  It is quite large and chunky.

The mochi, rice cake is firm and thick, and hearty ogura-an, sweet bean paste is fully filled. Looks very satisfying.

It has a chewy and springy texture. The filling ogura-an is very light, and the flavor of mugwort is well balanced. The Kusa Daifuku is a hearty but satisfyingly light and sweet treat.
