"Cream Box" a local bread representing Koriyama City

“Cream Box” made by Otomo Bakery in Koriyama city, Fukushima Prefecture, is a bread which is popular in local.  The original bakery was made by a bakery shop Romeo and many bakeries there now make same type of the Cream Box.

This “Cream Box” is so familiar to locals and it is called “soul food” there.   It is a sweet bread cut thicker and a bit smaller than normal size of bread,  applied a generous amount of special cream on the top.

 

Looking at the cross section, what a luxurious bread to cream ratio!

Delicious! Simple but unquestionably luxurious.   Perhaps due to the large amount of fresh cream used, it only lasts for a day, and it might limit to give someone as a souvenirs because of such short expiry date. Still I highly recommend everyone to try it.
